We have a skincare routine for just about everything. Cleanser, toner, serum, moisturizer,
SPF. We spend so much time thinking about keeping our skin soft, smooth and hydrated, but when it comes to our lips... a quick swipe of lip balm and we're out the door.
And honestly, I used to think that was enough too, but our lips deserve their own little ritual. Your lips are part of your skincare routine
Think about everything your lips go through in a day.
We talk with them.
We laugh with them.
We eat with them.
We drink with them.
We put lipstick and gloss on them.
They're constantly being exposed to the elements and everything else our day throws at us. So why shouldn't they get a little extra love? That's actually where my obsession with lip care began. I didn't want lip care to feel like something I remembered only when my lips were dry or flaky.
I wanted it to feel like self-care, a little ritual. Something simple that made me feel good.
It doesn't have to be complicated
I'm not suggesting you need another 10-step routine, quite the opposite.
The ideal lip-care routine is simple:
Exfoliate.
Nourish.
Repeat.
Start with a gentle lip scrub to help remove dry, flaky buildup and leave your lips feeling smoother. Then follow with a nourishing lip butter to give them the moisture and glossy finish they deserve, that's it.
Two little steps.
And because I love a good skincare routine, I wanted my lip care to have that same feeling, intentional, simple and enjoyable.
And here's something important…
Lip care isn't about changing the way your lips look. Your lips don't need to be a certain shape, size or colour to deserve care. Full lips. Thin lips. Wide lips. Petite lips.
They're your lips.
